Doctor for a Day - October 2011
![]() |
On Saturday October 15, 2011, we held 'Doctor for a Day' - an opportunity for 8-12 year olds to experience what our doctors encounter on a daily basis. It was a great success!
The 'doctors' were shown how to examine a dog, look at radiographs, examine a specimen on the microscope, and perform surgery! Each participant made a donation to the Farley Foundation!
Below are some of the photos from Saturday's sessions!
2011 Markham Santa Claus Parade

It was that time of year again! Time for the Markham Santa Claus Parade!
We decided to build another float this year! On Saturday November 26, everyone assembled the float, got dressed up and walked along Main Street Markham. We had a blast!
Twitter us, @MarkhamVet, your thoughts of our float! If you have any ideas for next year, let us know too!
Happy Holidays!
CIBC Run for the Cure 2011
On Sunday October 2, 2011, the Markham Vet Clinic team took part in the CIBC Run for the Cure, a fundraising event benefiting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Although most of us walked, we had amazing time and were proud to be taking part! Check out the photos below!

Spring Clean-Up

We had another successful highway clean-up on Saturday April 30th! It was a beautiful day and we all had our vests on, bottles of water and our brand new garbage picker-uppers (which worked amazingly well until they broke!). We were amazed at the number of plastic bottles that were discarded along Highway 7 considering there are fewer and fewer people using them!
Our next clean up is scheduled for the end of July. We will probably need to go first thing in the morning to avoid the heat!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
This was our first year participating in the Markham Santa Claus Parade and we had an awesome time!
We designed and built a float, named 'Wagging Tail Lane,' following the 'Christmas of Communities’ theme, which won 2ND PLACE in the commercial category!! We are so proud of our amazing team!
We walked many of our dogs along the parade route and they enjoyed every minute of it!
