October was Farley Month!

Each year during the month of October the team at the Markham Veterinary Clinic team fundraises for the Farley Foundation. The Farley Foundation was established by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association in 2001. It offers financial assistance to help cover the cost of providing necessary veterinary care for sick and injured pets that belong to low-income seniors, people with disabilities and women at risk of abuse who are participating in the OVMA’s SafePet program, who cannot otherwise afford treatment for their pets.  For further information please visit www.farleyfoundation.org.

This year was no exception!

Fright Housse

There is nothing better than visiting haunted houses around Halloween!  So we decided to put together a Fright House in our clinic to raise money for the Farley Foundation.

Photo Contest

The photo contest is a great oppurtunity to showcase your photgrapy skills.  Each year we hold a photo contest to raise money for the Farley Foundation.  There are some great prizes to be won!

Bake Sale

The bake sale is a yearly tradition for the Farley Foundation fundraiser at Markham Veterinary Clinic.  There is always something to buy at the bake sale!

Book Sale

This is the second year for the book sale.  Come buy some books for the cold Canadian winter coming, and to support the Farley Foundation.

Shania’s Sunflower of Hope

The Johnston family belongs to “Whiskey” one of our patients.  Shania Johnston was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in June of 2006 and she began fundraising that August by selling beaded necklaces, bracelets and key chains.  She called her fundraising efforts “Shania’s Sunflower of Hope”.  The Johnston Family has shown us incredible strength and Compassion; they have been a source of inspiration to our entire team. The Markham Veterinary Clinic has chosen to follow their commitment to finding a cure for Neuroblastoma and help to raise money for Shania’s cause.  To learn more about Shania’s Sunflower of Hope you can visit her website at http://ca.geocities.com/shaniasunflowers/index.html
