CLIENT RELATIONS

Cindy Ashmead
I’ve had the pleasure of working at MVC since 1988. Besides the obvious enjoyment of working with all our furry patients and their families, I’m also able to be with caring, competent, fun people who are not just co-workers but who have become friends.

The genuine warmth, compassion and expertise shown by the MVC team make it so easy to love working here. It is also a dream come true to spend each day with many furry friends and pet lovers. Each staff member, client and patient helps broaden my understanding and awareness. Each day I see caring teammates and friendly paws that warm the heart.

I love working at MVC because of my love for dogs and cats. It is also great working with clients and coworkers who share this passion.  The team is great, like the sisters I never had; we have a lot of fun. Not to mention the numerous learning opportunities. MVC is an environment where I feel I can thrive. I can express my ideas and incorporate them into what we do.

I enjoy working at the Markham Veterinary Clinic because I get to meet so many different people and their pets on a daily basis, and I am able to help them enjoy their pets even more.  My co-workers are in essence, my second family.  I love coming into work and being able to be myself and share a bond with so many different people and animals.

VETERINARY TECHNICIANS

Kelly Shore, VT, Practice Manager
I have been with the Markham Veterinary Clinic since 1989.  When I take the time to reflect on the last 20 years, I cannot help but remember all the lessons I have been taught.  I have learned that words such as teamwork, communication, respect, compassion and advocacy are not just words but the basis of our value system.  I have learned to be an advocate for every pet by being their voice.  I have learned to treat every pet as if they were my pet, and that gentle restraint works best.  I have learned to understand that growling and biting stems from a place of fear and that a soft voice goes farther then a strong hold.  I have learned to take time out of my busy day to enjoy the pets in our hospital and to respect the healing power of the human touch.  I have learned to appreciate the relationship shared between our clients and their pets and to grieve with them during times of loss.  I have learned the importance of continuing education and the direct relationship it has in enriching the lives of all my patients.  Thank you Markham Veterinary Clinic for teaching me all the things I did not learn in school, this is why I love working here. I look forward to all the things I will learn over the next 20 years!

I am truly blessed and honoured to be a part of the Markham Veterinary Clinic team.  This family is completely dedicated to being advocates for all your family members in times of joy and sorrow.  I take pride in knowing everyday our pets are receiving the highest quality medicine in a warm, loving and compassionate atmosphere.  My goal is to  remain an integral part of this close knit family, providing superior healthcare.

Markham Veterinary Clinic is such a great place to work.  I love getting to know our furry patients and their families.  The staff here genuinely loves animals and is always practicing the best medicine for all of our pets.  After recently losing my best friend Brooke, I have come to realize how important the caring, compassion and dedication provided by our team is to our pets and their people.  When I arrive at work there is always a wagging tail and a happy little face to greet me.  MVC is like my home away from home.

Lianne Hurley, RVT
I love the professional approach that everyone takes to care for clients and their pets. It feels good to help people and their beloved pets on a one to one basis. I love working with animals because I can continue to grow and learn every day.

Lorraine LeGrand, RVT
I enjoy working at Markham Veterinary Clinic because I get to be myself.  It is easy to contribute as I hold the same core values for myself as those chosen by the clinic.  I respect the level of care and genuine concern provided by our team for the patients I help to treat and the owners who care for them.

Ilene Shapiro, VT
I am very happy to return to the Markham Veterinary Clinic team after my maternity leave and to return to a profession that I love. The team at the clinic is made up of a fun and caring group of people that are a pleasure to work with and who maintain the highest standard of veterinary care. I feel privileged to call myself a member of the Markham Veterinary Clinic staff.

VETERINARY ASSISTANTS

Sarah Mount
I love working at Markham Veterinary Clinic not only because of our furry friends but because of the people around me.  I started working at MVC 4 years ago as a co-op student and I am truly grateful that I joined the fun staff as a veterinary assistant.  Every day I look forward to coming in and helping our furry friends in need.  It is great to know that I can come and be myself and work with an amazing group.  After losing my dog in January 2009 the staff at MVC showed me how much they cared for me and my dog by being there when I needed them the most.
I look forward to seeing you and your furry friend in the future!

COUNTRY CLASSIC GROOMING

Susan Seath
Ever since I was a small I had a dog. I knew I wanted to work with dogs in some way. I have found that being a groomer with my own business suits me and I love it! My job is to see that the dogs are happy and enjoy getting all spruced up. I am fortunate to be associated with such wonderful people at MVC. When in need they are always there to help me as I am there for them.
