Kelly Shore, VT, Practice Manager I have been with the Markham Veterinary Clinic since 1989. When I take the time to reflect on the last 20 years, I cannot help but remember all the lessons I have been taught. I have learned that words such as teamwork, communication, respect, compassion and advocacy are not just words but the basis of our value system. I have learned to be an advocate for every pet by being their voice. I have learned to treat every pet as if they were my pet, and that gentle restraint works best. I have learned to understand that growling and biting stems from a place of fear and that a soft voice goes farther then a strong hold. I have learned to take time out of my busy day to enjoy the pets in our hospital and to respect the healing power of the human touch. I have learned to appreciate the relationship shared between our clients and their pets and to grieve with them during times of loss. I have learned the importance of continuing education and the direct relationship it has in enriching the lives of all my patients. Thank you Markham Veterinary Clinic for teaching me all the things I did not learn in school, this is why I love working here. I look forward to all the things I will learn over the next 20 years!
